Chips and cracks

Chips and cracks. Filled, shaped, and honest about the result.

Edge chips are filled and colour-matched. Structural cracks through a benchtop are assessed first, and some are not worth repairing in place.

What it is.

A chip on the edge of a benchtop or a stair nosing is repaired with a colour-matched resin, shaped to the profile, and polished with the surrounding stone. The repair is smooth and durable and, on a plain stone, close to invisible. On a heavily veined marble the fill will always read slightly differently from close up, and we show you the result on a test area before committing. A crack is different. A hairline surface crack can be stabilised and filled. A crack running through the thickness of a benchtop, or one that is moving, is a structural problem and may need a fabricator rather than a polisher. We say which it is when we see it.

The price shape.

Chips are itemised per repair. Cracks are quoted after inspection.
